| By deviation of the penis we mean a distortion or curvature of the member. Depending on the degree of curvature it may be aesthetically displeasing and painfully disrupt or even preclude sexual intercourse. The distortion may exist from the time of birth, but it may also occur later, for example following injuries to the penis or urethra.
Up until now this type of curvature has always been corrected by surgery, with the consequence that the member was shortened by up to 3-5 cm. In the operation the longer spongy body (corpus cavernosum) is adjusted to the size of the shorter body by “taking in” or cutting out the surplus tissue to straighten the penis. The appearance of the member following the operation is not exactly imposing.
The loss of length triggers serious psychological problems in many patients. The application of constant tension for a period of time in the appropriate direction using Phallosan enables this curvature to be eliminated or at least diminished without surgery. The penis will not, however, become shorter in the process: as a side effect it will even become longer and thicker! To date it is the only procedure worldwide by which an incurvate penis can be treated without surgery.
